Vibe Wallet FAQ and Support
Quick answers for Vibe Wallet 1.9.0 on Linux and VibeSwap in your browser. Still stuck? Ask in Discord or Telegram.
Install
What do I need to run Vibe Wallet?
Vibe Wallet is a native GTK 4 Solana wallet for Linux on x86_64. It is not Electron, and the vault stays on your computer. The .deb needs Ubuntu 24.04+ or Debian 13+ (glibc 2.39, GTK 4.10+, libadwaita 1.5+, Python 3.10+). On older systems like Ubuntu 22.04, use the AppImage.
How do I install it?
.deb (Ubuntu, Debian):
sudo apt install ./vibe-wallet_1.9.0_amd64.deb.rpm (Fedora 40+, openSUSE Tumbleweed):
sudo dnf install ./vibe-wallet-1.9.0-1.x86_64.rpm
sudo zypper install --allow-unsigned-rpm ./vibe-wallet-1.9.0-1.x86_64.rpmArch, Manjaro, EndeavourOS:
sudo pacman -U ./vibe-wallet-1.9.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zstAppImage (most distros, no install):
chmod +x Vibe_Wallet-1.9.0-x86_64.AppImage && ./Vibe_Wallet-1.9.0-x86_64.AppImagePortable tarball (needs GTK 4 and Python 3):
tar -xzf vibe-wallet-1.9.0-x86_64.tar.gz && ./vibe-wallet-1.9.0-x86_64/vibe-walletAll files are on the download section.
Is it on the AUR, Snap or an APT repo?
Not yet. The AUR package, APT repo, Snap, deb-get, Pacstall and Nix channels are not live. Use the files from vibewallet.net or the official GitHub release.
Vault and security
Will support ever ask for my seed phrase?
No. We never ask for your seed phrase, private keys or password, and support never DMs first. If someone DMs you offering help, it is a scam. Get help in the public channels below only.
How does the vault protect my funds?
Your keys live in the vault on your computer. Every send, swap and signature needs the vault Confirm and your password. A website can ask, but it cannot open the vault.
Does it work with Ledger and Trezor?
Yes. Ledger Nano and Trezor Safe 3 / T are supported, and you confirm on the device. AppImage users should run the AppImage once with --appimage-help-udev to set up device access.
Is Vibe Wallet open source?
The vault (vibe-vault, vibe-keys, vibe-mcp) is open source under GPL-3.0 at github.com/vibewalletsol/vibe-vault. The desk app itself is not open source and ships under the VIBE Wallet EULA. The GNOME Shell extension is MIT.
Swaps
How do swaps work in the desk app?
Market and limit orders go through Jupiter, quoted on the desk. You confirm in the vault.
What is VibeSwap?
VibeSwap is a public Jupiter swap in your browser. Connect a wallet, paste a mint and trade. It supports Market, Limit Buy and Limit Sell (take profit), with expiry of 1H, 1D, 1W or 30D and slippage of 0.5%, 1% or 3%.
Where do my limit order tokens go?
Jupiter parks them in its vault until the order fills, expires or you withdraw. Fills are not guaranteed. VibeSwap never holds your keys.
How does the leaderboard work?
The leaderboard tracks VibeSwap swap volume, not profit. Season 1 tiers start at Bronze, $10k volume unlocks Silver and $100k hits Platinum.
Fees and RPC
What does it cost?
The app is free. VibeSwap charges 0.5% per swap, routed by Jupiter and shown on the review screen. A manual token listing is 0.1 SOL.
How do priority fees work?
Pick Low, Normal, High, Turbo or a custom value on Send and Swap. The vault refuses any priority fee above 0.05 SOL, so pick a lower level if a transaction will not sign.
My balances are not loading. What should I try?
Add fallback RPCs in Options → API → RPC endpoints and test them with Check RPCs.
AI agents
Can an AI agent use my wallet?
Only the way you allow. In Options → Agents you create an agent with a name, one bound vault wallet and SOL caps per transaction and per day. Its key is shown once and only a salted hash is stored. Each tool is set to Blocked, Ask me or Allowed. Reads default to Allowed and writes to Ask me.
Can an agent sign without me?
No. Agent writes become tasks in the Approval queue, and nothing is ever signed without the vault Confirm and your password. Revoke kills an agent key at once and rejects its open tasks. The MCP server is vibe-mcp, with write tools off by default.
Staking
Can I stake SOL?
Yes. Native SOL staking you can see and unstake without another site. The Staking page has Validators (stake, APY, commission, skip rate) and Rewards (per epoch rewards per stake account) tabs. The vault warns if a transaction would change a stake account lockup. We never give staking advice.
Languages
How do I change the language?
Go to Options → General → Language, then restart. Choices are System default, English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Italiano and Português (Brazilian). Proper names like coins, tokens and validators stay in English.
The vault's transaction review text and safety warnings stay in English.
Updates and signing
How do I verify a download?
Grab SHA256SUMS, SHA256SUMS.asc and vibewallet-release-signing-key.asc from the downloads page or the GitHub release, then run:
gpg --import vibewallet-release-signing-key.asc
gpg --fingerprint 58B078BE5C1DB227804367A728EB45CC198C2D3D
gpg --verify SHA256SUMS.asc SHA256SUMS
sha256sum -c --ignore-missing SHA256SUMSThe fingerprint must be 58B0 78BE 5C1D B227 8043 67A7 28EB 45CC 198C 2D3D. You should see Good signature and OK for your file. If either check fails, do not install.
How do I update?
Download the new release from vibewallet.net or the official GitHub releases, verify it, and install it over the old one the same way you installed it. AppImage users get a .zsync file for delta updates.
Troubleshooting
The .deb will not install on Ubuntu 22.04 or older Debian.
The .deb needs Ubuntu 24.04+ or Debian 13+. Use the AppImage instead.
My browser extension will not connect.
Update the extension to 1.4.0. Turn on the bridge in Options → Security, then pair with the one time code. The bridge is off by default since 1.9.
A website cannot ask for signatures.
Each site needs one Connect approval on the desk first. Sends and account switches also need approval on the desk.
Signing is blocked on a dApp transaction.
The vault blocks signing if an address lookup table cannot be fetched or does not check out. Try again later, and ask support if it keeps happening.
